Artifact Lifecycle

Artifact lifecycle describes how artifacts are created, updated, linked, rendered, searched, and retired.

How Readers Use This

  • Create artifacts when there is a durable object the team should review later.
  • Attach blobs when source or rendered files are part of the record.
  • Emit events and maintain links as the artifact changes.

Working Model

Every artifact has common identity and metadata. Kind-specific data explains what the artifact means, blobs hold file-backed content, links connect it to other artifacts, and events show how it changed.

Media To Add

  • Timeline: artifact creation, blob attachment, link creation, render completion, search indexing, and review. It helps teams understand lifecycle states. Source: sample document render workflow.
